Launched in October, 2003, the NATPE sponsored program is designed to provide individually tailored Media Liability, E&O and Cyber and Technology Liability coverage to meet the needs of each NATPE member. Interested in becoming a member of NATPE? Visit the NATPE website at www.natpe.org.
Media Liability coverage is available to all qualified members to include producers of features, pilots, specials, series, documentaries, training films, commercials and for all forms of distribution including direct to video, CDs or through the Internet.
Coverage features
- Industry preferred occurrence form covering productions during the policy period, regardless of when the claim is made, rather than on a more restrictive claims-made form (which applies only to claims made during the policy period)
- Libel, slander and any form of defamation
- Copyright infringement, including unauthorized use of titles, formats, ideas, characters, plagiarism, theft of ideas and misappropriation
- Trademark infringement
- Infliction of emotional distress, outrage, outrageous conduct
- Coverage for errors & omissions for content of production will be provided as an add-on option for qualified members
- Punitive or exemplary damages covered (where allowed by law)
- Worldwide coverage territory (covers foreign film production operations as long as the Insured is domiciled in the United States)
Specialty Errors and Omissions coverage is also available for NATPE members providing services to others. This coverage is designed to respond to the specific exposures of a wide variety of service businesses, including printers, graphic designers, public relations firms, computer/information technology, direct mail services, marketing consulting and research firms, publishers of directories and multi-listing services, consultants, plus many more service business classes.

Cyber and Technology Liability coverage is also available for NATPE members whose primary business focus is the dissemination of information and/or the performance of services utilizing on-line technology. This coverage is for Internet access providers and content providers, web site developers, designers and consultants, application service providers, web hosts and administrators and other Internet operations.
